About The Program

Our five-week Performance Driving Racing School, hosted by DriVR, uses state-of-the-art driving simulators to teach students the essential skills required to become professional race drivers. This safe, fun, and engaging program aligns with the Lethbridge School Division’s esports mission statement: engaging students in STEM participation, developing teamwork, and enhancing social and critical thinking skills through an inclusive and innovative community of competitive gaming.

Why Choose Our Driving Simulator Program?

  1. Improved Vehicle Control and Safety: Students learn to handle a vehicle in various driving conditions and scenarios without the risk of real-world accidents. They practice emergency maneuvers, understand vehicle dynamics, and improve their overall driving skills.
  2. Enhanced Hazard Perception and Decision Making: Students experience and react to critical and rare driving events, such as sudden damage to the vehicle, which they might not encounter during traditional driving lessons. This helps develop quick decision-making skills and better hazard perception.
  3. Personalized Learning: Simulators provide immediate feedback on driving habits, allowing students to learn from their mistakes and improve their performance. The training is tailored to each student’s capabilities, enabling them to progress at their own pace.
  4. Repetition and Practice: Students can practice the same driving scenarios multiple times, reinforcing learning and building confidence. This repetitive practice is crucial for mastering complex driving skills.
  5. Engaging and Fun: The interactive nature of simulators makes learning more engaging and enjoyable for students. Increased engagement leads to better retention of driving skills and knowledge.
